How can it be?

On speaking terms with GOD!
How magnificent!
As I had been talking to God this morning about some of the crisis things that needed His immediate attention and that He didn’t seem to be paying attention − my prayer came to an abrupt halt as I began watching the History channel trying to explain some of the phenomena’s of this Earth and our galaxy.
The Earth’s galaxy – is saucer shaped; 100,000 light yrs. long / 16,000 light yrs. wide [FYI: light travels 186,000 mi. per second]
The Earthis tilted on its ‘axis’ to give the different seasons.
The Earth’s Sun – is 93,000,000 miles from the Earth − taking Earth 365 days [traveling at 64,800 mi. per hr.] to complete its rotation around the Sun while ‘gravity’ is holding in its orbit.
The Earth’s Sun – is a raging inferno of heat giving off 4,200,000 tons of mass per second. One sq. yd. of the Sun gives off 70,000 H.P of energy continuously [FYI: The Sun at 864,000 mi. in diameter has 10,000 times more sq. yds. than the Earth with 8,000 mi. in diameter].
·         If we could buy the ‘energy’ the Sun gives off for a 24 hr. period paying the average per price of 12¢ per kWh with silver dollars − it would cover the surface of the U.S.  over 5 miles high;  and, there would still be enough energy left in the Sun to last some 30 billion more years!
There are 100 billion stars/suns in the Earth’s galaxy – with trillions of other galaxies → all operating to perfection.
Then I thought . . oh, Wait −A – Minute! . . I’m talking to GOD . . . the One who is the Creator of all this magnificent universe − and due to the pressures of this life . .  I’m finding myself actually having a ‘face-off’ with Him?  . . .  How dare I? Forgiveness was asked. Forgiveness was given. We’re back on speaking terms

Friday . . Saturday . . SUNDAY!

The rest of the story…..

Satan is lolling indolently in rebellious pride on his gruesome, stinking throne of death basking in the admiration of the other demon-angels. Satan, the devil, gloats and brags in front of his devils how he has killed the Son of God.

A far off rumble catches their attention and as it draws closer they start to cringe away in fear; "It’s the Royal Chariot!" one demon whispers; “Look at the driver; it’s the second man on the cross. We killed him when we killed Jesus!”

Their bulging eyes plainly say what their mouth is afraid to; “Satan, why didn’t you lock all three of them up in that place called death; you found the man on the cross who railed on Jesus easy enough to put away?”

The chariot furiously thunders to a sliding stop and Jesus steps out.

But it is a different Jesus this time.

He is no longer the Forsaken One because on His head is the royal diadem of the greatest - the eternal King, and upon His breast is the ephod of the great High Priest.

Jesus had left His staff of mercy leaning casually against the flaming chariot. No mercy would be shown these fallen ones.

True enough, it is the Lamb as it had been slain but this time Jesus radiates danger and power as He strides toward the shrinking, horrified devils.

No explanation is given and none is needed when His cold ringing voice speaks: “Give me the keys of hell and death, now!”

With lowered head and averted eyes; with craven, drooling, servitude Satan hands over the keys.

The Royal Chariot thunders away!

(Rev. 1:18;1 Peter 3:18-21; Ephesians 4:7-10;Matthew 16:19)

Ok, it's SATURDAY . . but Sunday's comin'

The Night BEFORE Easter

The night was so different from all the rest
  And a silence covers the Earth;
The stars have no glimmer,
  the moon tries to hide,
For in death lies the man of their birth.

In a room filled with sorrow, a mother cries
  For Jesus, her Son now is gone;
Her child sent from heaven was taken away,
  Heart broken she feels all alone.

   At the feet of his mother a little boy cries
   Saying, 'momma, I don't understand;
    I remember the look of love in His eyes,
     That I saw,
      just by the touch of His hand.'

The King of all ages, the Giver of life,
For a moment lies silent and still;
But a power sent from heaven comes breaking the night,
And death must bow to His will.

Then .  . a stone moves,
      the Earth shakes,
        birds start singing,

The sun .  . shines
    the Earth .  . warms,
        new life it's bringing;

A little boy .  . stops crying,
    a mother .  . is smiling,

For death could not hold their King!

It might be SATURDAY  .  .
But Sunday's still comin'

I remember . . .

Some of my best childhood memories are from Easter time. It was always a big deal, the week previous to Easter Sunday, to go out with my Mom and shop together for our Easter ‘outfit’. That meant a dress (the frillier the better!), a pair of shoes and with purse to match, and of course, a hat and gloves. I don’t recall it being a time to try to ‘out-shine’ or ‘out-do’ the other girls at church with my outfit, but, I remember it as special time that we put our new spring outfit and went to church to celebrate Easter Sunday with the rest of our church family, to laugh and have good time hunting Easter eggs in our backyard, and, of course, eating together as a family a delicious ham with all the trimming. As a child, it meant that it was time to put away the coats and winter clothes and bring out the colorful, light-weight summer clothes – it meant that school was just about over and summer vacation was just about to begin!

As I grew older, I remember more of the Easter services with those wonderful ‘live’ re-creations of the Crucifixion story and taking Communion at the end of the service, by the light of candles. For me, it was always a stirring and emotional time to see and feel what Jesus went through for my salvation.

Now that I am much older  .  .  I fully understand everything in my life that I hold dear, I have because of what Jesus Christ did for me on the cross that Friday AND on that spectacular Sunday that He rose from the grave! I comprehend  the completeness of what it means to serve a RISEN SAVIOR who has made available to me a fresh, clean, new beginning to this life and a sure promise of a 'next life' that is beyond this world! I’m looking forward to that time when I meet Him face to face.
Face to face with Christ, my Savior,
Face to face—what will it be?
When with rapture I behold Him,
Jesus Christ who died for me.

Face to face I shall behold Him,
Far beyond the starry sky;
Face to face in all His glory,
I shall see Him by and by!

Only faintly now, I see Him,
With the darkling veil between,
But a blessed day is coming,
When His glory shall be seen.

What rejoicing in His presence,
When are banished grief and pain;
When the crooked ways are straightened,
And the dark things shall be plain.

Face to face! O blissful moment!
Face to face—to see and know;
Face to face with my Redeemer,
Jesus Christ who loves me so.

Hey, this machine doesn't work!

Matt. 7:11

If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and advantageous things to those who keep on asking Him!

At one time or another, we've all experienced those tricky vending machines where you're supposed to drop your coins in the slot, push your selection button; and out comes your pop or candy .  . thinking 'you do your part, it does its part and everybody’s happy'. Except when it doesn't do its part .  .  the vending machine “eats” your coin and you find yourself tapping, pounding, kicking or otherwise inducing it to respond the way you expected. Sometimes it coughs up the product and sometimes you walk away with neither your coins nor treats, brimming with utter frustration. We won’t waste our time anymore on a machine that doesn’t act the way it should.

In like manner, do we have the mistaken idea that God operates as some kind of a spiritual VENDING MACHINE where if we simply put in our coins of prayer, fasting, Bible reading, tithing, going to church, honesty, being nice, etc. and, then, when we push the 'faith' button .  .  out should come the gifts and favor we paid for? But, when we don't get what we 'paid for', we say 'Hey, this machine doesn't work!'.

Or should we take Him on His Word that He loves us beyond measure and has already seen to it that the 'price' has been paid - and we can come to Him with a clear conscience that we are His child!
